I’m one of those people that others come to whenever they need anything as they know the chance of me having it in my handbag is quite high. I don’t think my heart ever truly left the Girl Guides. So, what items am I carting around with me this month?
Patisserie de Bain Lemon Bon-Bon Hand Cream The weather has been a little weird of late and I’d not been wearing my gloves, then regretting it quite a bit as my hands were akin to those of a bricklayers. This hand cream has seriously been sorting me out though and it smells divine! The lemon scent is strong but not over-powering at all and it smells like you could eat it! You really need to check out the whole range, everything is scented with a nostalgic childhood scent; Cherry Pie, Cranberries and Cream, Strawberry Cupcake, Sugared Violet and Lemon Bon-Bon. These creams are made by Rose & Co which is based in the most wonderful shop in Haworth, Yorkshire. I recommend a trip to see them if you haven’t already been, they’re 2 minutes from one of my favourite places; the Bronte Museum.
Patisserie de Bain Hand Cream is currently £2.66 each (normally £3.99) from Superdrug
Beauty & Go Detox Drink I’ve been drinking these for almost a month now and will do a full write up once I’ve finished the month. I’m not going to say too much about them right now, other than they seem to be really working and taste great! I’m going to be so sad when I run out of my supply as they have fitted into my daily life so well. Perfect handbag size too! You can buy these online and from Selfridges at the moment, but they are coming to Tesco stores soon too priced £2.99.
La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water This is a little bottle of revitalisation and perfect for keeping in your handbag for commuting or long days, especially as the weather starts to get warmer. The spray is designed to let the micro-droplets permeate through your make up (without moving or smudging it) and refresh and hydrate your skin, you can even use it to help set your make up. I like to spray it on my face as a little pick me up when I’m feeling hot and bothered or really dried out. Did you see my post about the new La Roche-Posay #skinchecker campaign too?
You can buy La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water in 50ml/150ml/300mls from Boots
Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDP As it’s a new season I’ve started to change my scents over to something a little lighter, at least for during the day. This scent by Narciso Rodiguez is light and floral but with a base of musk that makes it perfect for this time of year, or even day to night wear.
You can buy a range of Narciso Rodriguez For Her products includeing EDP and EDT from FragranceDirect.
EcoTools Complexion Collection brushes This new collection of brushes from Ecotools is out this month and I’m going to do a separate write up on them soon, but I wanted to include them here to let you all know how much I’m loving them! They’re super soft, pick up just the right amount of product and don’t shed all over your face. They’re also really pretty, which encourages me to clean them more often 😀 EcoTools Complexion Collection will be available from Boots.com April 2015
Pixi H2O Skintint This tinted face gel launched in 2014 and has received a lot of praise since. It’s water base means that it glides onto your skin really well and hydrates and evens skintone as it goes. It’s also really buildable which makes it a great day to night product to put in your handbag to quickly neaten up your make up before a night out. There are three shades available, cream, nude and warm I use the nude shade, but I know that Lewis-Duncan Weedon found the cream shade to be great for paler skin. You should check out his blog Blonde at Heart.
Pixi H2O Skintint is available from Pixi Stores and PixiBeauty.co.uk for £24
Herra Protect Hair Perfume This is one of those products that when it first came out I laughed at the idea and ignore it, but now I’ve actually been hands on with the product and found out more about it I actually really like it. This product was designed to protect hair from damage from UV and free radicals from pollution, but also to have a luxury edge and pampering feel. The scent is really light and pleasant on its own, but it was designed to have no overwhelming top notes so it will compliment any scent that you are wearing, avoiding any scent clashes. There are two sizes of bottles available too; a 50ml bottle or a set of 5 mini handbag sized 10ml bottles.
You can buy both sizes of Herra hair perfume for £24.95 from Herra.co.uk or other stockist listed on the site
Colab Dry Shampoo Speaking of handbag sized hair products, I don’t know where I would be without dry shampoo! There are a lot of these on the market now, some good, some bad, but it’s the Colab one that is currently winning the battle to be in my handbag. This dry shampoo gives great volume and refreshes your hair with a really yummy fruity tropical scent and without loads of white residue. The fact that this product is pretty much invisible is a main selling point for me as I have dark hair and a lot of the dry shampoos out there leave a weird white coating that makes me look dusty!
You can buy Colab dry shampoo in several sizes and scents from Superdrug
Boujois Rouge Edition Aqua Laque I’m a huge fan of liquid lipsticks, they have the soft comfort and ease of application as a gloss but the staying power and colour of a lipstick. This new range from Bourjois is no exception either and they are heading straight up the list to be amongst some of my faves! The shade in the handbag photo is Babe Idole (08), I’m hoping to do a swatch filled post about them all soon but I’ve been having problems getting the shades to show up correctly on the camera. They shall appear soon!
You can buy Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Laque from Boots.com for £8.99 each and they are currently part of the 3 for 2 offer.
Tresor Paris Pen with White Crystals I’m a reallytechy person, but I also always make sure that I have a notebook and a pen in my handbag too. I’m enjoying this pen from Tresor as it writes really smoothly and has a twist action to reveal the nib, which I prefer as sometimes the clicky-top pens can open accidentally in your handbag and draw on things or leak. This pen comes in a smart box with a couple of refills which makes it a great present idea for a range of different people. The are also mini white crystals inside the barrel and a larger one set into the top.
You can buy this pen from the Tresor Paris website for £19
Moxie Tampons Ok so tampons aren’t the most exciting thing in the world, but they are something that many of us use. I use several different brands, depending on which shop I’m in when I remember I need to buy them mostly, but I do like Moxie ones. They come in these little cute recyclable tins too, which means you have a little more discretion but also it stops the damn things vanishing off to the darkest corners of your handbag. I seem to having some problems finding them listed on the usual websites, but I know I saw them within the last few weeks in Tesco.
You can buy Moxie from Amazon for £2.99 for a packet of 16, which comes with two tins.
New Look Cat Purse in Grey And last but not least, my cat purse! I need a new purse for a long time and I even did a blog post about trying to find one I liked, but this is the one I settled on. I can’t see this grey version on the New Look site any more but they do have the creamy brown version for £9.99.
