There’s been a lot of talk about these cosmetics recently, most because they are linked to One Direction and they are pretty much everywhere! The one thing I always wonder about when I see celeb versions of products though is just how good they will be. I’ve had a couple of things in the past that have had the face of a celeb or tv show etc and the quality just hasn’t lived up to the price, but how have these faired?
1D Little Things Nail Varnish in ‘Fuchsia Frenzy’ (Harry) £3
I’m not really a pink person but I have to say I really like this shade! It’s a proper solid fuchisa pink, no shimmer, no glitter, no texture which makes it almost unusual at the moment. I quickly daubed it onto my nails (on one hand) no top coat or base coat and it’s only got a couple of chips in it after a couple of days of wear.
1D Kiss You Lipstick in I Want (Liam) £3
The first thing that jumps out at you about these lipsticks is the design on the actual product itself, this is a really nice detail with a 1D logo on the very tip. The colour is on trend too, a nice coral based red and it applies well and stays on quite well too. It would suit most skin tones and at this price it’s excellent to just pick up if you fancy testing out a new shade without spending lots.
1D What Makes You Beautiful Cheek Tint in Rose Riot £3
I quite like the shade of this but please don’t follow the instructions on the packaging! ‘Apply 3 stripes’ is not what you want to do unless you’re going for that sunburned look, use this sparingly!
This are basically lip balms and have a touch of colour and flavour too them, but nothing too overpowering. In fact, the balance of colour and flavour/scent is quite good, some others can make me feel a little sick they’re so sweet.
They don’t feel sticky on the lips and would be great to keep in a handbag or on your desk to slick on whenever your lips feel dry or just in need of little boost.
These products are all made by MUA and they’re a brand that never disappoint me, they’re often much higher quality than other brands in a similar price bracket. You can pick them up from Superdrug stores or online at Superdrug.com
