One of the big home trends at the moment is monochrome kitchenware! Patterned or plain, cup or saucer, black and white is big in the kitchen right now. Monochrome schemes in the home are so chic and the kitchen is no exception, so I’ve hunted out my favourite picks of monochrome kitchenware from around the internet. Enjoy!
Wilko Dinner Set Colour Play Range in Black £12
This set is made up of four dinner plates, side plates and bowls and is a total bargain at just £12! A great set to pick up if you want to try out the monochrome kitchenware trend on a budget. There are also matching mugs available for £1 each. Plus, if you’re prone to dropping things or suffering an ‘act of cat’, you will be pleased to know that you can also pick up replacement plates or bowls for £1 each too!
Magpie Teatowel by Birdybird (NotOnTheHighStreet.com) £6
I love magpies, well any bird from the corvidae family, so my beady eye zoomed in on this piece of shiny straight away. The teatowel takes its inspiration from the traditional nursery rhyme ‘One for Sorrow’ and has a great vintage feel to it too. This teatowel would look great, either hanging from a rack or even framed and used as an unusual picture.
Sue Timney 2 tier Cake Stand M&S £29.50
I really like cake stands, not sure why, but I do! So, this one made me very happy indeed. I mean, it’s a cake stand that’s also so on point with the monochrome kitchenware trend. Huzzah! One of the difficulties with cake stands is finding somewhere to store the damn things, but the kitchen surfaces would look really good with this cake stand on them.
Paperchase Kids Safari Breakfast Set £20
This ceramic set from Paperchase is made up of an egg cup, spoon, plate and mug. Each of the pieces is covered in a great black and white animal design that would appeal well to children. This would match in well with any monochrome dinner set and would last well as it’s not plastic.
Habitat Brookland Black Pattern Tea Cup and Saucer £6
Out of all the items covered here, this has to be the one I want the most. There’s something really ‘Alice in Wonderland’ about this little set and that has my vote any day. Really on trend, tea cup lovers can buy this set for only £6 each from Habitat, a bargain! A white shelf on the wall with a couple of these sets on would make a great feature too, if you didn’t want to use them.
