Marks & Spencer have announced that they have been granted the licence to produce the first-ever official Downton Abbey beauty products. The contract is set to last two years and will create a fairly rich range of products.
The debut collection, consisting of ten pieces, will arrive in October as Series Four of the show hits our televisions and, of course, just in time for Christmas. You will be able to buy the products from over 250 M&S stores throughout the UK and online.
The collection ‘captures the ornate Downton Abbey look and the classic elegance and charm of the Edwardian Era.’ Packaged in burgundy, emerald and gold the pieces will also have the Downton Abbey crest, an image of the abbey and a quote from the programme.
I love this series and I have to say I’m interested to see how these products look ‘in the flesh’ and what colours they chose for the nail polishes. I always worry when I see themed collections that they will be yet another batch of cheap nasty products in themed packaging being sold for three times what they should! I’ve found M&S stuff to be quite good though in the past, so maybe this will be a good range to look out for?
Items in the range are:
Downton Abbey Signature Soaps £6 for a set of three
Downton Abbey Fragranced Candle £8.50
Downton Abbey Cosmetic Bag £12.50
Downton Abbey Lip Balm Duo £5
Downton Abbey Travel Collection £8.50
Downton Abbey Nail Varnish Collection £9.50
Downton Abbey Cream Bath £9.50
Downton Abbey Bathing Collection £16
Downton Abbey Luxury Collection £49.50
The range will be available in stores and online from October 12th 2013.
