British actress Michelle Keegan announces a collaboration with Lipsy to launch her debut fashion line. With each piece designed with Michelle’s lifestyle in mind, the 30-piece trend-led collection includes a range of dresses, jackets, one-pieces, tops, skirts and outerwear. The colour palette incorporates nude hues, flashes of berry shades, bold ultramarine, navy, black and monochrome. Michelle comments: ”I have spent a lot of time over the last few months working closely with the Lipsy design team to make sure that each piece in my collection is something I am excited about wearing, my collection is classic, unfussy and feminine in style, and I can’t wait for it to hit the high street in July!” The Autumn 2014 collection will launch online at and across all UK Lipsy stores on July 3 and at selected Lipsy stockists retailing from £28 to £85.

Amazon announces the launch of Dress Store, a new area on dedicated to buying and selling dresses. Customers can browse the new store using filters such as brand, price, colour and style. The Dress Store includes brands such as Cacharel, BCBGMAXAZRIA, Tommy Hilfiger and French Connection.




Harvey Nichols has teamed up with art collective and DJ crew #BEENTRILL# to create an exclusive collection for spring /summer 2015. Enlisting the design of their favourite British brands, Harvey Nichols has brought in Kim Jones, Hardy Amies, Gareth Pugh, Shaun Samson and A. Sauvage to work with #BEENTRILL# on the collection, which will consist of 15 looks, with footwear brand Mr Hare designing a range of shoes, and accessories brand Linda Farrow producing a range of sunglasses. The collection will be presented during London Collections: Men in June 2014 and available exclusively at Harvey Nichols stores worldwide and online at from December 2014.

The Calzedonia Group has announced plans for UK expansion this year following positive growth for 2013. Calzedonia will be opening a new store on Oxford Street this summer and its first store outside of London is scheduled to open in Brighton later in the year. As well as in the UK, the group are planning on expanding into the Far East after successfully opening in Hong Kong.

This week marks the launch of international fashion search engine Fashiola in the UK. Fashiola enables online users to find products from a variety of high street and designer fashion brands for women, men and children in the UK. The site enables shoppers to browse the UK-based fashion products from all brands at a glance including Topshop, Marks & Spencer, H&M, Michael Kors, Hugo Boss and Stella McCartney with more brands being added each month. Internationally Fashiola already offers over three million products from 500 retailers. Fashiola offers a number of search filters allowing customers to search by size, brand, material, discount level, pricing level, category, theme etc. Additionally, Fashiola users can set product sale alerts to be notified on price reductions instantly.

London-based milliner Alexandra Harper Millinery has teamed up with The Walt Disney Company UK to produce one-off designer hats and headpieces inspired by the stories and characters of the company’s most iconic fairytales. Alexandra’s first capsule collection for Disney will tie-in with the upcoming worldwide release of Maleficent, a new feature film starring Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning. Alexandra has been commissioned to design four pieces that reference the dark, dramatic beauty of the story’s leading protagonist, an iconic villain first introduced in the 1959 edition of Sleeping Beauty. Alexandra will be producing several collections for Disney over the next two years, with the second collection set to be themed around Peter Pan and Tinker Bell. This is slated for release in September 2014. The Alexandra Harper Millinery for Disney collections will be available exclusively online from May 9.
